the new chican@
Ito Romo guest edits our newest issue, which features short fiction by Luke Neftalí Villafranca, poetry by Octavio Quintanilla, fiction and nonfiction by Sarah Cortez, and a poem by Tim Z. Hernandez. Ito is no less committed to minimalism in his editorial focus than he is in his own prose—There are only four poets and writers in the issue (of whom not one wastes a word), and the longest piece is a poem. But this issue is by no means small. With original art from Vincent Valdez and design by Alban Fischer unique to the issue, Ito has assembled an intimate collection of fresh, vibrant, oftentimes dark work from five established and emerging Chicano writers and artists.
